my desktop with watercooling. bought the 8 core black edition water cooler off ebay for 50 dollars shipped and stuck it on my 6 core, combined with opensource drivers for linux its awesome though lm-sensors integration is on my todo list.
to be honest i’de trade it in for a nice laptop, its hard to beat 40 watts of laptop anymore and storage is getting better by the year.
update – bought a toshiba tecra r850 with usb 3.0 on i7 very nice laptop / quiet too. only issue i’ve bumped into is when connecting egpu to the mini pcie adapter where the wireless was the fan goes full out.
kuhlerd installed to run with the amd fx water cooler on linux.
linux suse – I liked SuSE the most because of the gui tools yast provides for administration of the system.
Ubuntu – has been the best in terms of hardware support and packages. it does instant security fixes usually takes a while.
